Translation - Flags - Mundus Verborum

What is translation?

As a general definition, translation is the process of conveying a written message from a source language into a target one – for instance from French into English.

But what precisely does this involve? Not all translating work consists of simply typing out text from one language into another.

At Mundus Verborum we offer a wide range of services, including:

Translation:

A qualified and experienced linguist translates your document from the source language into the target language.

Editing:

Editing is a professional review carried out by a skilled expert.

After the translation process is finished, the translated document, along with the source file, is sent to an independent linguist. They will read the translation and compare it to the source file to check that the text has been translated accurately and is free of spelling and grammatical errors.

Quality assurance:

This means a third pair of eyes reading your translation to ensure everything is of the highest possible quality.

If you have very important documents and would like an additional linguist to review them again, we are happy to offer this service.

Gist:

If you are just looking for some specific information or an overall summary of a document, rather than the full translation, this service is likely to suit you best.

Once you understand what the document is about, you can then select only the sections you need, or alternatively opt to have the whole document translated.

In-company translation:

This is the perfect package if you have a project involving highly sensitive documents or, for whatever reason, you would simply prefer to have the linguist working at your premises.

Translation Memory and terminology management:

If your company uses a lot of highly specialised terminology or standardised vocabulary, we at Mundus Verborum can help you manage your Translation Memory and glossaries so that they become as streamlined and efficient as possible.

Perhaps your company already has a Translation Memory and would like to have it streamlined to be more efficient. Don’t hesitate to get in touch – we will be only too happy to discuss your needs and provide a free quote.

Certified translation:

This service is invaluable when you need an official translation that will be used, for example, during legal proceedings in court.

Sworn translation:

This type of translation may be required during certain official proceedings either in the UK or abroad.

We will provide you with an affidavit prepared by a solicitor, notary or Commissioner for Oaths.

Please do get in touch if your particular requirements are not listed above.

With Mundus Verborum, you won’t get lost in translation.
